Once a week, several hours of the school day are allotted for students to leave the BHS campus and travel to an internship of their choice.

Athlete Profile: Clara Obstfeld

By Ally Dove

Starting at the young age of 6 years old, Clara Obstfeld played catch with her older brother and father and found a passion for playing softball. Immediately drawn to the sport, Obstfeld began playing club softball for the Bears, an team that plays all over California, Nevada, and Colorado. By Meg McCabe

The Berkeley High School Yellowjacket sports teams will be joining a new league. This change is a result of the dissolution of the Alameda Contra Costa County Athletic League (ACCAL), the league in which BHS has most recently competed. The change will bring a lot of new experiences to BHS athletic teams — as Athletic Director Bill Gaebler said, “The new league will be a good check for us, to see if we need to change things.”

This was a great feat for Head Coach Ed Hill, who moved on to coaching at University of California, Berkeley this year.

Berkeley High Torn in the Battle of the Bay

By Bowen Johnson

Giants or A’s? At Berkeley High School, we’re lucky enough to have two baseball teams just a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) ride away. Who should our team be? Most of us live in Berkeley, which is obviously a lot closer to the Oakland Athletics (A’s) geographically, but there are still a lot of Giants fans around.
