Simone Obidah
Simone Obidah has a long list of accomplishments under her belt from her time at Berkeley High, spanning from diverse activities in the arts to BHS leadership duties. Each of her activities are of a distinct and unique nature, and her participation in these during her time at BHS has definitely helped shape the person she is today.
“I love Berkeley High, I always have. I’ve had my ups and downs, of course, but this year especially has been super fun,” Simone said. “I love how different Berkeley High is from other schools.”
Simone has appreciated being in Communication Arts and Sciences (CAS), and considers CAS a highlight of her time at Berkeley High. She explained how her classmates in CAS have developed a very close bond over the years, “They’re like a second family. I’ve gotten super close with a bunch of people and have expanded my inner circle.”
Simone has a strong interest in the culinary arts, and loves experimenting with food. As an aspiring chef, she currently has a job cooking for a local woman a few times a week.
Simone is also very participatory in the arts. She took tap dance classes for three years, along with other types of dance during her sophomore and junior years at BHS. Simone is also interested in music, and plays both the guitar and the piano. In addition, she recently finished an internship where she taught video production to third graders at Washington Elementary School. Simone has also held a strong presence in BHS leadership. She has been on the BSEP committee for two years, holding a position as one of two student representatives.
Simone looks back fondly on her experiences at Berkeley High, but is also looking forward to next year, when she will be attending Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Her planned major is Culinary Arts, and she will also be getting her BA in Business. Simone’s accomplishments and level of dedication at BHS will be sure to carry over to her freshman year and beyond.
